On June 5, 2026, the B. Narayana Foundation organized a special tree plantation drive to mark World Environment Day.
Conveying a message of environmental conservation, versatile tree species such as Neem and Karanj were planted. These trees are known for generating significant amounts of oxygen and providing extensive shade. Additionally, Neem and Karanj trees are fast-growing and offer long-term environmental protection. This initiative was undertaken against the backdrop of rising temperatures, pollution, and shrinking green cover.

The message conveyed during the event was, ‘today’s tree plantation is an investment in a healthy life for future generations and a step towards mitigating global warming.’
The Foundation emphasized that while planting trees is crucial for environmental protection, nurturing them is even more important; they urged everyone to take care of the planted saplings. Mr. Shankar Batgiri, the Founder-President of the Foundation, addressed the gathering, highlighting that tree plantation is the need of the hour. He encouraged people to make a pledge—”A tree in my name”—to help green the local area. Society Secretary Dinkar Narayankar also spoke on the occasion, stressing the importance of nurturing the trees. Narsingh Mhanta, Nikhil Batgiri, Sanjeev Sani, Manish Batgiri, Sagar Batgiri, Anil Kulkarni, Revappa Kale, Dinkar Narayankar, Mallinath Achalerkar, Vitthal Pawar, Kalshetty, Sunil Bhairamdagi, Sainath Rasolgikar, Sunil Shinde, Ishwar Lokre, and young and old children from the society were also present on this occasion.
